This year, I have reached my quarter century and that is a long time to live and learn. I have noticed that many women often struggle with their make up skills, that is why I have come up with beauty lessons which have helped me throughout my 25 years of existence. Read on…

  • I have always noticed that if I skip on water, my skin starts getting dry and weary. I used to hate water but believe me, it can work wonders for your skin. It is always important to keep your body and skin hydrated. You will notice a difference in your skin and energy. It makes your face glow!

  • It was believed that using purple eyeshadow makes it look like you got punched in the face. Relax ladies, it is just a hoax! Do not hesitate to use your purple eyeshadow!

  • Don’t ever try to pluck your eyebrows by yourself. Eyebrows frame your face shape. By plucking it the wrong way, you can unknowingly ruin your facial features. Better seek the help of a professional to get your eyebrows done right.

  • If you are missing a lot of beauty sleep, you better buy an eye cream. All eye cream is pretty much the same, so the brand does not really matter. All that matters is that the dark circles go away. If you are a tea lover, save your teabags in the fridge. Putting them on your eyes can help you avoid having puffy red eyes.

  • Highlight your eyes by using black mascara on your upper lashes and brown on the bottom. I have done this for 3 years now and trust me, it makes your eyes look wider. You can also use your mascara as eyeliner, in case you forget your pencil at home.

  • The most important thing to remember is that there is always going to be someone “prettier”. It does not make you less valuable. Instead of wasting your time being jealous, appreciate them and yourself.

  • Using too much makeup is not a myth! I have come across people who put a whole foundation tube on their face even when they just came to buy bread. Allow your skin to breath, you can always use a reasonable amount of foundation. The aim is to highlight your features, not look like a zombie!

  • Invest in a good moisturizer. When you grow older, your skin starts getting dry. Take your time to moisturize your body. I promise that it works wonders. I have also tried coconut oil on my skin for years now. I can tell that it is the best moisturizer when it comes to extremely dry skin. If you do not have shaving cream, conditioner work wonders when it comes to shaving on dry skin.

  • Do you know what goes well along with the thousands of beauty products? An unbreakable confidence. You can work hand in hand with upgrading your makeup skills and working on boosting your self-confidence.

  • Had a blowout and is it ruined the next morning? Well, I understand your struggle. It is extremely difficult to keep your blowdry intact while sleeping. However, I have come across a worthy hack. Tie your hair with a soft scrunchie rather than a hairband to avoid having your hair rattled up. You could also braid your hair to prolong your blowout

  • After a wild night, whenever you come home drunk, make it a habit to wash your face before jumping on the bed. Your face will be forever grateful to you! Sleeping with makeup on is a bad habit, it slowly ruins your skin.

  • Don’t worry about that pimple on your forehead! People are too concerned about their own look to worry about yours.

  • Take time to study your face. Check your profile and highlight your features. It is important to know these features to be able to contour properly while applying your foundation.

  • Just got your hair colored and spent a fortune on it? Wash your hair with cold water to avoid having the color fade. Don’t waste your money on box hair dye, better get your hair color done by a professional.

  • Nail polish lovers! Do not shake your nail polish bottle before applying. Just give it a little roll for a smooth nail painting session.

  • Always choose a concealer over high coverage foundation. Your pores will be thanking you and you will look more natural. Makeup is supposed to be fun, so don’t take it too seriously.

  • Whatever you eat reflects on your skin, so make sure that you are having plenty of Omega and other vitamins which make your skin glow. Eat your veggies and don’t skip workouts! Dig in the proteins, fish and, poultry.
