In 2022, I keep hearing the same question, “How can I become a successful and famous entrepreneur?”

Honestly, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, but the key to being a successful entrepreneur lies in what inspired and what drove real-life successful entrepreneurs to fame.

Bill Gates

Bill GatesThe name itself is a brand.

Every living person on earth knows Bill Gates. He is the most important man in the world of technology as he founded one of the tech giant “Microsoft.” This is the reason why he is one of the richest men on earth. A recent report by Bloomberg claimed that he is worth an astounding $ 114 billion. And, even though he has donated billions in charity –yes, he is an extremely generous philanthropist – he keeps getting richer every year. It is said that if Bill Gates had been a country, he’d be the 37th richest country in the world. Impressive, right?

However, despite his immense wealth, you’ll be shocked to learn that Bill Gates once claimed that his kids would only inherit $ 10 million each –that means just a fraction of his $ 114 billion net worth. According to him, “Leaving kids massive amounts of money is not a favor to them.”

Quite shocking, isn’t it?

Well, you have to expect this from the man who said that “Money has no utility to me beyond a certain point.”

We often expect famous and successful entrepreneurs like Bill Gates to be “money-minded.” However, isn’t it a good thing that despite being known as the world’s fourth-richest person, the man’s major focus is to alleviate child poverty?

Famous Quotes by Bill Gates:

“If you are born poor it’s not your mistake, but if you die poor it’s your mistake.”

“It’s fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.”

“Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.”

“I believe that if you show people the problems and you show them the solutions they will be moved to act.”

“Don’t compare yourself with anyone in this world…if you do so, you are insulting yourself.”

J.K Rowling

J.K RowlingBorn in 1965, Joanne Rowling is more commonly known as J.K Rowling. She is a British author, screenwriter and philanthropist. She is best known for writing the Harry Potter fantasy series, which sold more than 500 million copies, thus becoming the best-selling book series in history. The set of seven novels was also made into a series of popular movies which have been commercially successful, earning fame and multiple awards for the movies and the actors.

However, besides her books, if there’s one thing that shot the name “J.K Rowling” to fame was her “rags to rich” life that inspired and encouraged a lot of people, particularly young aspiring female writers.

It is a well-known fact that J.K Rowling lived through troubled teenage years and had a strained relationship with both her father and mother. She also struggled with an abusive husband and was eventually left stranded with a dependable daughter, with no job and no support. At that time of hopelessness, she did contemplate suicide. However, thanks to her desire to live, her passion and hard determination, she got a job, completed her novel and is now known as the first writer to have ever become a billionaire.

Many lessons can be drawn from her story, but the most important one is to never give up. You don’t know when life can take a sudden sharp turn and you could land that one job you’ve always desired or that house you’ve been dreaming of.

Famous Quotes by J.K Rowling:

“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all—in which case, you fail by default.”

“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.”
