Would you risk your mortgage, being unable to pay your bills and rent, or being destitute all because you want to drive forward with an idea?
People are often scared to start a business because they tend to overthink the results and thus assume that they are not ready for such a big step. It is true that sometimes the risks of starting a business can massively outweigh the rewards. But, if everyone were to back down due to fear of risks and failures, there’d be no Apple, Microsoft, Facebook or Amazon today.
So, if you are a Christian who’s being held “captive” by the feat of starting a business, here are some Biblical scriptures that might help you.
Biblical Scriptures
From Deuteronomy 8: 1-18:
“Do Not Forget the Lord 8 Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors… 6 Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him. 7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land…18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today…”
From 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19:
“16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit.”
From Proverbs 16: 1-3 :
“To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. 2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
From Psalm 23:1-6:
“A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow.
